Indiana State University’s basketball team, known as the Indiana State Sycamores, is a prominent NCAA Division I program based in Terre Haute, Indiana. Established in 1896, the Sycamores have a rich basketball tradition and are recognized for their competitive spirit and passionate fan base. They compete in the Missouri Valley Conference and have a storied history, including a memorable run to the NCAA Championship game in 1979, led by legendary player Larry Bird.
