Quảng Nam Football Club (Vietnamese: Câu lạc bộ Bóng đá Quảng Nam), is a professional football club, based in Tam Kỳ ward, Đà Nẵng. They are now playing in V.League 1, the Vietnam's top division.
The team is currently playing at Tam Kỳ Stadium.
History
Quảng Nam Football Club was founded from the Công nhân Quảng Nam - Đà Nẵng football team. After the separation of the provinces in 1997, the Quảng Nam football team was established separately. After many ups and downs, in 2013, the team won the national first division championship and played in the 2014 V.League 1. In the 2017 season, the team made history by winning its first national championship. However, due to not meeting the criteria of the AFC, Quảng Nam FC gave up the place to attend the AFC Cup 2018 to FLC Thanh Hóa.
On 26 December 2011, the club was renamed QNK Quảng Nam after being sponsored by QNK Investment Joint Stock Company. On December 29, 2016, the team officially changed its name to Quảng Nam Football Club as it is known today. On 25 November 2017, in the last round of V-League 2017, Quảng Nam FC won 3 – 1 against Ho Chi Minh FC at Tam Kỳ home stadium.
In the National Cup, Quảng Nam also won the bronze medal twice in 2016 and 2017, won the runner-up in 2019, and won the National Super Cup in 2017. In 2020, after an unsuccessful season, Quảng Nam was forced to play in the 2021 National First Division Football Tournament. According to the team development plan, Quảng Nam must return to the professional league within 3 years, the earliest being in 2021.
Over the seasons, the club was successively named Nhựa Hoa Sen Quảng Nam, Quảng Nam Xuân Thành, Bảo hiểm Thái Sơn Quảng Nam. On December 26, 2011, the club was renamed QNK Quang Nam after being sponsored by QNK Investment Joint Stock Company. On December 29, 2016, the team officially changed its name to Quang Nam Football Club as it is today.
In 2023, the club won the 2023 V.League 2 championship by surpassing PVF-CAND club on goal difference and was promoted to 2023–24 V.League 1. But after promotion, because Tam Ky stadium did not meet infrastructure standards, the team moved to Hoa Xuan stadium, home of the recently relegated SHB Da Nang FC, as a temporary home.
The team's colors are typically represented by a vibrant combination of red and yellow, symbolizing the spirit and pride of the region. Quang Nam FC plays its home matches at the Tam Ky Stadium, which provides an electric atmosphere for fans and players alike.
Over the years, Quang Nam FC has achieved notable success, including winning the V.League 1 title in 2017, which marked a significant milestone in the club's history.
