Chabab Riadhi Témouchent (Arabic: الشباب الرياضي لتموشنت), also known as CR Témouchent or just CRT, is an Algerian football team with its headquarters in Aïn Témouchent, Algeria. Known for its red and white team colors, the club was established in 1961. At the moment, CR Témouchent plays football in Algeria's second division, Ligue 2.
History
Mohradj Hadj Belghaba, Mohamed Attou, Bénamar Hadj Gourine, Zénagui Hadj Yekhled, and other local sports enthusiasts in Aïn Témouchent founded CR Témouchent on May 17, 1961. Ahmed Hadjouti, a former boxer and North African champion, owned the café where the founding meeting was held. The club's first president was Mohamed "Houmani" Hadjeri. Mankour Hadj Bensahih, popularly known as "Petit Mankour," assumed leadership of the club following Algeria's independence in 1962 and led it through its early post-colonial phase.
CR Témouchent participated in amateur regional and national competitions for a long time. The club's promotion to the Algerian Ligue 2 on August 5, 2020, following impressive results in the lower divisions, was a significant milestone.
